New Employee Jordan Block

Jordan Block has recently joined BIT as a Software Engineer.  

Jordan grew up in Sioux Falls, SD before leaving to serve in the 95th Civil Affairs Brigade (Airborne) in the United States Army at Fort Bragg, NC. After  four years at Fort Bragg he spent another year in Balad, Iraq as a defense contractor for the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force for the Arabian Peninsula.  

Upon completing his tour, Jordan returned to South Dakota to complete his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at Dakota State University.  Jordan has a range of hobbies including fishing, shooting, and video games.

New Employee Danielle Guthrie

Danielle Guthrie has recently joined BIT as a Software Engineer in the Development division 

She moved to Pierre with her husband and two children from Brookings, SD. She attended South Dakota State University where she majored in political science and minored in geography. Danielle went on to obtain her masters in geography with a minor in GIS.  

While completing her master’s degree, Danielle was able to partake in various activities.  Some of the unique activities included the following: 
  • Studied abroad in Senegal. 

  • Conducted research in Romania on the effects of EU membership in Romania and its geopolitical importance. 

  • Taught and planned a physical geography lab.  

  • Presented at several national and regional conferences.  

  • 2013 International Seminar in Romania 

  • 2014 Association of American Geographers Conference  

  • 2015 SDSU Geography Convention  

In addition, Danielle enjoys a range of hobbies such as needle crafts, video games, cooking/baking, and being a lifelong learner.

Please Welcome Jessica Fosheim!

Another new face around the office is Jessica Fosheim. 

Jessica Fosheim has recently joined BIT as a Software Engineer. She will be focusing on web development initially and ultimately working with back end coding and SQL coding as well. Jessica Fosheim grew up on a farm in the Winner, SD area. After high school, she attended Dakota State University in Madison, SD. She majored in Digital Arts and Design emphasizing in Computer Graphics, with minors in both photography and art. Jessica graduated Summa Cum Laude in May of 2013. After graduation, she worked as a graphic artist at the Winner newspaper.  In the fall of 2014, Jessica moved to Pierre to live with her then fiancé and commuted to Winner. In February, Jessica accepted a position at Damon Law Office in Pierre, SD. In June of this year, she upgraded her status from Ms. to Mrs. by marrying Bryce Fosheim, who is a member of BIT Development Team 6. Jessica started with BIT Development Team 1 on July 9th.
