New Employee Danielle Guthrie

Danielle Guthrie has recently joined BIT as a Software Engineer in the Development division 

She moved to Pierre with her husband and two children from Brookings, SD. She attended South Dakota State University where she majored in political science and minored in geography. Danielle went on to obtain her masters in geography with a minor in GIS.  

While completing her master’s degree, Danielle was able to partake in various activities.  Some of the unique activities included the following: 
  • Studied abroad in Senegal. 
  • Conducted research in Romania on the effects of EU membership in Romania and its geopolitical importance. 
  • Taught and planned a physical geography lab.  
  • Presented at several national and regional conferences.  
  • 2013 International Seminar in Romania 
  • 2014 Association of American Geographers Conference  
  • 2015 SDSU Geography Convention  

In addition, Danielle enjoys a range of hobbies such as needle crafts, video games, cooking/baking, and being a lifelong learner.
